Promoting Hot Products in Clickbank - Affiliate Goldmine

Affiliate marketers interested in making a fortune (depending on several factors which you will get to read about later on) doing business online promoting products and services through article marketing, search engine optimization, AdWords, websites and the various marketing campaigns (including blogs) created in order to earn a commission on every sale made through their efforts must indeed get to find and discover hot products on Clickbank marketplace -a goldmine of sort.

ClickBank as you must come to know or get to realize is one of the well seasoned and leading retailer of digital products on the internet. It is a good and appropriate place available online to sell, promote, or buy digital products.

For affiliates, this is good news with great benefits if you know what i mean. While getting to promote products and services is a personal undertaking, the bottom line to any marketing effort especially as an affiliate is sales.

It is through any or all efforts made by an affiliate that brings about the sale of any product or service which is a direct result of visitors (or traffic) coming in contact with an article, a review, AdWord or web page promoting a desired and much needed product or service.

A commission for the sales effort is calculated and credited to the affiliate that has helped facilitate a sale.

Getting to discover a hot ClickBank product is easy if you are able to understand all the metrics and statistical data offered in ClickBank Analytics (or cb-analytics for short).

ClickBank Analytics is a research tool deployed in the analysis of trends as regards Performance index, Sales index, Customer feedback, Commission percentage/value, Page rank, Search Engine optimization, Visitors per month, etc.

ClickBank Analytics is a tool that helps affiliates easily discover hot products and the current market (sales and promotion) trends. This tool presents a leverage and equally positions an average affiliate patronising ClickBank for success in marketing hot products to potential buyers online -a goldmine you can not afford to miss out on.

Clickbank Marketplace

The Clickbank Marketplace is where you'll find thousands of products to promote. The marketplace is organized by topic and sub-topics. When searching for products I recommend you look for products that you are interested in or have an expertise in.

Let's say you have an interest in golf. Maybe you're not very good, maybe you are, that's irrelevant. You have an interest and that's something you can build on. So, for this particular niche example, search the Clickbank marketplace for golf related products. You'll likely turn up a dozen or so products selling ways to improve your swing, your putting orlower your scores. The reason why you want to pick a niche that interests you is because if you like it you're going to do a better job promoting the product. The key to making it as a Clickbank affiliate is consistency and perseverance. If you like the topic you'll work on in with consistency.

If you pick something you don't like you'll lose interest fast. You want marketing to be fun, not boring. It shouldn't feel like a job. You should feel excited to get up every day and work on it.

The Clickbank Marketplace is where every affiliate should begin their search, but unfortunately the marketplace has very limited functionally and product information. I recommend a third party marketplace analysis tool that has more search functionality and data to help you better find and select products to promote.

Four things to look for in a good product:

A) Your level of interest as discussed before

B) Gravity. Each product is assigned a gravity number that reflects a products sales strength. I recommend selecting a product with gravity between 10 and 100. Anything below ten usually signals the product isn't selling well or has a low demand. Over 100 obviously signals the product is selling well, but it's hyper-competitive and it will be tough to muscle in and get sales.

C) Refund rate: The Clickbank Marketplace does not publish refund rates. But one particular third-party tool does. I look for a refund rate that's below ten percent and I never promote a product with a refund rate over twenty-percent, ever.

D) Visit the websites that interest you. Is the website professionally developed? When you read the copy are you hooked? Do you want to buy? Is the spelling and grammar correct? A lot of sites might look great, but they'll have a terrible pitch or its horribly written, or both. Despite a product's gravity and refund rate never promote a product that doesn't present itself in a profession manner.

Promoting Clickbank products:

There are many ways to promote Clickbank products: video, articles, PPC, CPM, forums, e-mail advertising. No matter which marketing method you choose let me give you a tip that hardly any affiliate ever takes advantage of. When you find a product you like contact the merchant and ask for help promoting the product. I do it all the time and they'll often provide you with free content, keywords and phrases that convert, video, text and banner ads and I've even had them help me prepare my marketing. I've written up marketing pieces and they've given me in-depth feedback helping me fine-tune my pitch for optimal conversion rates. After all, they're experts when it comes to their product, so use them for their expertise. Most of them will be delighted to help. Take advantage of it.

Using Clickbank

When starting out figuring how to use Clickbank can be a daunting task. I'm going to give you a few tips to help.

First, realize the Clickbank is, in my opinion, the greatest affiliate network in existence. If you're just thinking about promoting Clickbank products, don't just think, do it. You will not be sorry.  You have just one account and you can promote over six-thousand different products, checks are cut every two weeks like clockwork. Even better, they're all digital, which means product merchants can afford to giveaway larger percentages of sales. They have no costs of goods sold to contend with so most vendors can pay 30-70%, which is insanely high. So there are enormous sums of money to be made.

Okay, how to use it. The very first key is to find great products you want to promote. Most people go to the Clickbank Marketplace to find these products. That's fine, but realize the marketplace has very limited information and search functionality and there are better places to search for products. My recommendation is cbengine.com. They provide historical sale's data, gravity, refund rates and provide lists of hot products to promote. Plus the search functionality cannot be beat.

When looking for products I first recommend working in a category you know. Maybe you have a lot of investing knowledge; maybe you're a retired teacher or a sport's coach. Find a topic of knowledge, or at least interest. The reason is because if you like what you're doing, if it holds your interest and you have some knowledge, you're going to do a much better job promoting products that fall under that category. Just imagine if I didn't know anything about Clickbank or didn't love it, my articles wouldn't be very effective.

So type in your subject of interest on cbengine and if you see results you have some products you can further evaluate for promoting.

So get together a list of products based on your topic... Now examine their gravity levels. I like a gravity of at least 10 and no more than 100...  Under 10 the product likely isn't doing as well, over 100 there are too many people promoting the product and setting down any traction is going to be tough. However, don't forget to look at the date the product entered the marketplace. If it was last week and the gravity is 6, it's a new product that could jump to 15 by the next week.  Next look-up their return rates. Are some of them sky-high? Cross them off your list. I don't touch most products with a refund rate above ten-percent. Sometimes I'll extend my rule to twenty-percent if I think I can do a good job promoting the product, but I never ever want to promote junk no matter how much money I could potentially make.

Once you find a group of products narrow it down to two or three and then pick your marketing technique to start driving sales. There are many different ways to market Clickbank products and I don't have time to review each one, but here is a list: article marketing, forum marketing, eBook marketing, video marketing, newsletter marketing, PPC, CMP, direct mail, newspaper advertising plus many, many more.

Google AdSense Help

AdSense is starting to make a huge impact on the affiliate marketing industry. Due to this, many weaker affiliate marketers will not survive and this will in turn cause the ad networks to lose customers more quickly.

If you are in an affiliate program where you are losing money or barely breaking even, then you should consider going into the Google AdSense Marketing Program. This will give you the opportunity to make some real honest money.

The ads that Google compose are very well written and are well matched to the content on your web pages. You do not have to find these ads yourself as this is done for you by the different search engines from other people's sources.

Another great feature of AdSense is that you do not have to spend countless hours choosing ads for different pages and putting in codes for different affiliate programs. The search engines will find the best ads in which to put your pages on.

Even if you already have affiliate links on your site, you are still allowed to add AdSense Ads. However, you cannot duplicate or imitate the Google Ads for your affiliate links. You are permitted to use Google's custom palette to customize your Google Ads so they will appear as part of the web page itself. The main idea behind this is to match the background and links to blend into the theme of your web site. Today, surfers on the internet are taught to click on a link that is blue and if the Google Ads blend into your web page, then they appear to be part of your "content."

Also, you have the ability to filter up to 200 URLs and this gives you the option to block ads for the sites that do not meet your guidelines and also block your competition.

If you are the owner of a small site, you are allowed to insert a code into it and instantly have text ads that are attractive to your visitors. You only have to apply once, even if you have more then one site. Once you apply, you are assigned a unique "publisher ID," which can be used on any site that you own.

Spam Filtering and Regulatory Compliance

The Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (S-Ox) and the Risks of Non-Compliance Because of Spam.

The Sarbanes Oxley Act was created to combat the rise of corporate fraud in the early part of the 21st century. In a nutshell, the act stipulates retention periods for electronic data (seven years), and mandates that companies must create, publish, and enforce detailed policies governing classification of, access to, and control over electronic data, which includes email messages.

S-Ox does not mention spam, spyware, or any other malware specifically, but it does address compliance issues that can arise because of these things. The intent behind the act is to ensure that companies retain data that may be important in resolving legal issues. Corporate policies must ensure that the data isn't lost or deleted; that security is in place to restrict data access to the parties that legitimately need it; and that the data can be searched and retrieved in meaningful ways when information is needed for an investigation. Spam can impact all of these priorities.

Retention Costs
Without ample spam filters in place, the storage costs of spam alone would be significant for mid-size or larger companies trying to keep every email for seven years, given that up to 90% of all emails coming from the internet are currently junk (Spamhaus).

Security
According to the FBI, 74% of documented cases of Internet and web-based crime used unsolicited email as the primary means to contact the victimized companies and individuals. Spam is the number one means of transmitting malicious viruses, worms, and trojans designed to steal confidential information. Failure to provide adequate protection against these threats, or at least make an earnest and informed effort to do so, would qualify as S-Ox non-compliance.

Access
Archives that are polluted with spam are more difficult to index by keyword, and more costly to search for relevant records in the event of an investigation.

Compliance with S-Ox and related regulations must be a serious concern to corporate policy-makers and IT departments. Penalties for non-compliance range from the loss of exchange listing to multimillion-dollar fines and imprisonment. Dealing effectively with spam should be a key piece of an overall compliance strategy.

Are you in a small or medium business drowning in spam? Are you using an anti spam product that does not eliminate 99.8% of the spam and/or removes legitimate messages that may cost thousands in lost opportunities?

5 Steps to Earn Killer Profits From Google AdSense - Starting Tonight!

Several web masters have repeatedly found Google AdSense business to be a great way to monetize their web sites. The 5 steps below when followed to perfection can earn you killer profits from Google AdSense business.

1. The format

The format you choose should make the visitor ad-blind. The Large Rectangular format has delivered wonderful results to many advertisers. When you place links in this format, they look more like web links than ad links.

2. Color palette

Evolve a custom color palette in tune with the color scheme of your web site. Your ad color should blend with the colors used for your web site and not stand out. Remember, viewers have a tendency to skip ads when they spot them.

3. Positioning

You place ads to attract the attention of viewers. At the bottom of your web site page, hardly one viewer will click on your ads. This is a researched truth on the general habit of internet viewers. Place your ads at the top of the page and you will notice the difference in your Google AdSense business.

4. Using Channels

Creating the ads and putting it up on your website by itself is not going to help you much. You should be using channels to analyze the performance of your ads and carry out modifications when necessary.

5. Use limited filters

You can use filters to prevent certain ads from showing on your website. But excessive use of filters can adversely affect your income from Google AdSense business.

Now go and take action and get started by tonight!

Affiliate Alternative; Google Adsense

The Rise and Fall of Affiliate Programs

Affiliate programs were once a great source of online revenue, a savvy webmaster with an eye for marketing could easily parley a site into a money making machine with a little luck and effort. However, the evolution and growth of the Internet has hampered the growth of fortune making affiliate programs. Constant search engine algorithm changes, along with the search engine's clear distaste for sites participating in affiliate programs; have made it a little more difficult to earn a healthy affiliate revenue. An influx in the use of software programs that terminate cookie tracking and privacy programs that prevent webmasters from tracking referrers, have also hindered the affiliate sales channel. While it is still possible to make money through affiliate marketing, other alternatives ought to be considered.

A Healthy Alternative or Supplement

Google's Adsense program allows approved websites to dynamically serve Google's pay-per-click Adword results. This has become a popular alternative and an effective revenue sharing program for webmasters. Google's spider parses the adserving website and serves ads that relate to the website's content. While the Google's Adsense program still has some issues, they are making efforts to improve it.

The website maintenance related to Adsense is very easy and requires very little effort. Webmasters need only to insert javascript into the webpage or website template. The javascript calls the ad from Google and will ensure that ads are served each time a visitor goes to the webpage. If the visitor clicks one of the Adsense ads served to the website, the website owner is credited for the referral.

The implementation, while simple, has its drawbacks. Google dictates the format of the ads. Webmasters can select from a handful of preformatted text boxes that lack creativity. A recent improvement allows webmasters to modify the ad boxes to resemble the website's color scheme. Still, a far cry from some of the creative ads webmasters are accustom to.

The example below reflects how the color scheme can be modified to match the look of the website, but the ads physically don't fit well into the overall website design.

sample modified to match sites color scheme:

Google determines the content of the ads that are shown/ Sometimes the ads are poorly targeted, and of no interest to the website visitors.

sample of poorly targeted ads:

Adwords can be a great addition to a website, and when well matched to the content the revenue stream from Google is consistent and effortless.

sample of effective Adsense program:

http://www.small-business-software.net (scroll to the bottom)

Not that the Google Adsense program is not without its problems.as the reporting provided by Google is lacking. Google has not implemented any way to track multiple sites that serve ads; they simply show the number of ads served, the percentage of clicks received, and the revenue earned each day. Google does not disclose the amount of the revenue they share, what percentage of the revenue they earn and what someone can expect to receive for each click. Webmasters with multiple sites will have difficulty determining which websites are producing the money in the Adsense program.

With affiliate programs many webmasters implement a new browser launch with each click off the site, Adsense removes the visitor from the website and there is not currently an option to launch the visitor into another browser.

Early on Google implemented a filtering system that allowed webmasters to prevent a specific domain's ads from being served on the website. Ad blocking meant that webmasters could prevent their competitors ads from being dynamically served on their website.

Overall, adwords are great supplements to websites where affiliate programs are either not performing or when affiliate programs don't exist that target the sites content.

Give it a Try

Implementing and maintaing Google Adsense program on a content site requires very little effort and can often bring a steady stream of additional revenue for webmasters. Consider supplementing content and see what happens.

Search Engine Marketing - Hang Out and Be Found - Walk the Walk

Online Marketing

Being discoverable is all about being found, the more places you hang out, the more places people are going to find you. Don't hang out anywhere - hangout where your customers are. You need to be found by customers who are looking for the products and services you sell. In the article 'Easy Search Engine Optimization - Be Discoverable: Talk the Talk', I discussed the first steps a website needs to take on the journey to being discovered. I discussed mirroring the search keywords, and search terms customers use to search for your site in your sites copy. This puts you in sync because you are talking the same languauge. This article discusses the steps to take to be discovered off site, a process known by various terms such as online marketing, Search Engine Marketing or SEM.

Now that your site talks the talk and is SEO optimized with search keywords and search terms, you need to walk the walk and get on path. The path marks the way that internet surfers jump from site to site following links. Links that are in banners and buttons - the type that appear on most websites - one minute your looking at cars, you click on a banner and book a holiday. It's called serendipity and we all do it. Banners aren't the only things that catch our attention - articles, blogs and forum post may contain links within the body of a piece of text - called deep links - which we follow for more information.

Affiliate Marketing

Getting on path with banner ads and buttons can be achieved by a process known as affiliate marketing. Affiliate Marketing is where you agree to pay sales commission to a third party website when their visitors click through to your website to make a purchase from you. It's like paying a salesman, only the salesman is a website. There are a number of ways of setting up an affiliate marketing scheme. You can do it yourself, or pay commission to a third party, known as an aggregator. Aggregators are effectively banner brokers.

Press Release

Press Releases - Aren't they just for big companies? Absolutely not, a press release or news releases is a great way of getting on to the path that surfers walk, and they are accessible to all. A well written press release will contain the search keywords and search terms that your customers use - taking the talk - and links to various pages on your website. This is a great way to communicate with your customers directly and drive action such as registering for a news letter, subscribing to a blog, or enquiring on a product. Whatever action you want to invoke - press releases give you that ability. Earlier I used the term 'News Release' as opposed to 'Press Release', for the reason that you aren't really interested in the press. It's not that you don't want the press to write about your company and its products or services, it's because your release isn't aimed at journalists and editors - it's aimed at your customers.

Press releases are distributed by press release hubs that send your news out to news rooms, websites and blogs. This means that your news will travel all over the world and will appear on all kinds of websites who link back to your website with the links you embedded in your news release. Is that cool or what? Aim to send out one press release per week, and you will become very discoverable. You may think that you don't have any news to tell: Rubbish, of course you do. If you have no news nothing is happening, and if nothing is happening - you've got problems, which is news - so you can tell the world about that.

Why Google AdSense is Crucial For Your Internet Sites

Before we get into what is Google AdSense, it is important to know what is Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising. It is a form of advertising on the Internet. For example, when you have the ads on your website, and a visitor clicks on the advertisements, you will get paid. To recognize why Google AdSense is all-important for your article website is to know foremost how this works.

This concept is actually simple. The publisher or the Webmaster puts in a java script into their website. Whenever each time the webpage is viewed, the java script will feature advertisements related to the content in your webpage from the AdSense program. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the Webmaster serving the ad garners a percentage of the income that the advertiser is paying to Google for the click. Hence the term Pay Per Click.

All the payments and tracking of ads are managed by Google, thus allowing for an easy way for webmasters to show content-sensitive and directed ads without having the hassle to woo advertisers, collect payments, monitor the clicks and statistics which could be a time-consuming chore in itself. The webmaster's most important task is to create content.

There are many advertisers waiting in line to publish their products through Google AdSense.

The first reason why AdSense is indispensable for your websites is because it already has advanced methods in understanding the demands and needs of publishers and webmasters.
There are many different types of text ads and image ads available for the webmaster to use and customize. This will allow them to effectively complement the advertisements to their webpages.

The second reason is the ability of the website owners to accurately track their earnings based on the webmaster-defined channels inside Google AdSense setup page. You are thus able to monitor the efficiency of each individual ad, gather additional information such as page impressions, number of clicks and click through rates. Modifications and improvements can then be applied on the underperforming ads.

The third reason is that advertisers are able to deliver their ads to their intended audiences. This is achieved by Google AdSense software system. Thus increasing the hypothesis that a prospective web surfer will have an interest in their products and services. All because of the content and its frequent updates. As contrary to those who are not using AdSense in their sites, they are granted the alternative of having others do their content for them, bringing about the benefit of having successful and money-generating web sites.

AdSense is all about targeted content, the more focused your content is, the more effective the search engines' ads will be. There are some web masters and publishers who are centered more on their site contents and how most effectively to maintain them instead of the cash that the ads will yield for them. This is the component where the effectiveness is working its fullest.

1. Blending the ads with your background is a Google AdSense secret that many know of but forget to do. It is proven that more people will click on an ad if it looks like your website as far as the font and color of links as well as the same background. It makes it look less like an ad and more like your own work.

2. Keeping your Google AdSense above the fold is crucial. More times than not people only read part of your website or simply take a quick glance. By placing your ads above the fold, people can see the ad without having to scroll down. This gives you many more opportunities to receive clicks.

3. A Google AdSense secret that is not only important for your ads but your website as well is focusing on a niche. If you focus on one particular niche you will have a better chance at keyword optimization and climbing higher on the search engines. By focusing on a single subject, AdSense can target your readers with relevant ads to increase your earnings. While the Google AdSense bot is smart, it won't be able to figure out what your website is about if you write on every topic possible.

4. Cut down the clutter to eliminate the chance of your Google AdSense being skipped over. The problem with placing multiple pictures and banners and menus on your page is that it looks cluttered and makes it difficult to read. With a mass amount of information and displays it increases the chances of your visitors not even seeing your AdSense ads. By keeping your site simple and informative at the same time, you have a better chance of getting clicks and increasing your revenue.

5. The last Google AdSense secret I have for you is far from being a secret. You must generate traffic to your site if you want people to click on your ads. There are multiple ways you can increase your traffic from writing articles, using search engine optimization, and posting in forums. However way you choose to increase your traffic, you must do something to build up a high traffic volume if you want to get any money from Google AdSense.

While these "Google AdSense secrets" may not seem like secrets, you would be amazed at how many people do not do them. By doing each and every single tip you will notice an increase in your Google AdSense revenue in no time.

My Experiences With Testing and Tweaking Google Adsense

When Google first came out with the Adsense affiliate program I turned my nose up at the idea of placing their ad units on my websites. I suspected this would be just another affiliate program taking up space on the pages of my site but delivering very little in the way of commissions.

I'd experimented with several affiliate products over a period of six months or so and found I simply didn't have the level of traffic required to leverage most of the programs that were available to me.

Friends with websites of similar popularity who spoke about their Adsense earnings made giving the program another look very tempting. Finally I signed up and added ad units to a couple of my websites.

Initial results were anything but exciting. I earned pennies per day and figured at that rate I would earn my first Google commission check in a few years.

Then I had the opportunity to interview Joel Comm. This was right after he released his first information product about Adsense - when most people hadn't heard of him. Taking a few nuggets of information from that conversation, I changed up how I displayed the ad units on my site and saw immediate improvements in income.

After that the challenge became deciding which pages to emphasize Adsense units on and which pages would be better served without them. For example, when I place prominent ad units on the Work at Home Moms Talk Radio website I earn very good Adsense income, but I believe I would rather have visitors paying closer attention to my show notes and other more profitable affiliate recommendations so I tend to keep ad units to a minimum there.

I have other websites that do very well with Adsense while still performing their primary purpose so I keep ad units up front and obvious on their pages.

I have one website of a personal nature that I added Adsense to three years ago. Not expecting much, I was pleasantly surprised to see it earning over a hundred dollars a month right away. When cold weather arrived that number doubled, tripled and then quadrupled! I couldn't understand why this would happen as rge content was not seasonal in nature.

I purchased and installed Adspy and discovered that the content making all the money for me was actually one single page on the website. Just one of hundreds! The mystery was solved. The content earning all the clicks was a how to article for a popular winter craft, the only one like it on site.

I quickly optimized that page for Adsense and saw even better profits the following winter. Knowing the other pages earn very little, I dropped most of those ad units. Lastly, I began to create more pages like the one that earns so well, knowing that they will help me to generate even more income in the future.

This taught me how important it is to test and track, using tools like Adspy to keep a close eye out for little profit power houses on my websites. Doing so has revealed other surprisingly profitable pages and helped me to gain the highest value from this affiliate program.

Are Articles Needed For Google AdSense Cash?

There is nothing more rewarding than receiving the check of hard earned money. You must have seen thousands upon thousands of online testimonies of how they 'got rich' from Google AdSense and how they make thousands per week. Some of these stories are not entirely false.

The main secret behind making money from the Google AdWords or AdSense program is content. There is no shortcut. Content is the first step behind any successful money making website. Of course, there is SEO-ing, but content is what drives the potential customers to your site. How much you are willing to invest will determine how much you will make per month, but it is possible to make money without spending a dime.

First of all, you will need a website. Assuming your content will be purely textual (since Google spiders crawl on text/keywords), you may either get a domain and hosting or choose to post to a blog, or you could sign up for free ad-supported website. It is recommended that if you plan on making money from your website, you ought to get a website with your own domain name, after all, ad supported hosting defeats the purpose of your money making; plus, you want your website to appear as professional and less congested as possible.

Now that you have a website, the next step is getting content for your site, but we will get to that at the end of this article.

Now that you have a domain name and a niche, you will have to sign up for the Google AdWords Program. Note that Google AdWords enables you to get paid for advertising and Google AdSense is when you will have to pay for advertising.

Now that you have your domain with efficient hosting, and your AdWords account, you will need to build your site. If you are already a site-creating guru, then you are a step ahead. If not, creating your content site is not purely throwing out HTML pages. Sooner or later, content is going to keep growing and you may either get an efficient content manager or get hired help.

Traffic makes the difference between you making money or you not getting a dime. In order to get traffic, you can either optimize your website or get traffic by spamming. Now, remember that spamming will not get you repeat visitors, and will give your business a very bad reputation, plus, spamming may cost your website not to be listed on search engines, and Google has the right, under the 'Terms and Conditions' to revoke your AdWords account. You definitely do not want to start from scratch.

Traffic can come by word of mouth and efficient SEO-ing. SEO is an enormously broad topic that ranges from content, link popularity, link exchanges, keywords, web description, etc., to website rankings and so on. In order to remain on the top of your niche, you will need to always want your customers coming back. In order to keep that traffic flowing, you will need to keep content coming fresh and keeping your site constantly optimized and up to date. You will need to be aware of most common spider crawling techniques and use it to your advantage.

Another most common made mistake in getting website content free and cheap is to copy other websites or repeat the same information (if you have more than one money-making site). This is a bad move! Search engines will see this duplicate content as spam and remove it from searched results. Also, if you copy and paste content that is not yours and/or of public domain you will be infringing copyright. Copyright infringement is a crime.

Remember that signing up for Google AdWords is free. If your website gets rejected at first, don't worry. Just build your list and re-apply. As long as your website is legitimate and is not an 'about-me' site, you are more than likely to get approved. Plus, having an AdWords account opens you to the Google community and you can increase your PageRank dramatically.

Good luck on your first check!

Internet Marketing Tips - Email Marketing Startup Tips

Everybody has to start someplace. Not everyone is an expert at something right off the bat. Email marketing is no different. There are some basic things that you have to know when starting up or you're going to be totally left out in the cold. In this article, I'm going to share with you some basic startup tips to get you going in the right direction. I think you will find these very helpful.

For starters, and this may be the most important thing of all, get a reputable company to send your emails for you. Don't try to send them yourself from your own servers. There are too many problems with this, not the least of which are spam complaints and getting your ISP to shut you down. It's just not worth the risk. Plus, if your domain gets blacklisted, that is going to kill your delivery rate. A reputable company like Aweber or Get Response won't have this problem. So don't do this yourself. It's too big a hassle.

When building your email list, you want to make sure that you're targeting people correctly. If you have a book on how to cure acne, you want to make sure that you're using keywords that are attracting people who are specifically looking for acne cures. People who are just looking for general info on acne are not targeted enough and will be wasting space on your list. The more highly targeted your list is, the better it will perform.

When you email your list, you don't want to bombard them with offer after offer. You need to give them something of value in order to gain their trust. Otherwise, you're going to have them bailing out on you so fast, you won't know what hit you. Offer them a free report or a newsletter. Give them something to make them feel like you actually care about helping them.

Finally, provide them an easy way to unsubscribe if they want to. The can spam laws are very specific about this. There must be one link and one action to take in order to unsubscribe. Anything else is in violation of the law and can land you in a boat load of trouble.

These few tips should be enough to get you started. If you want more info, there is a great resource below that will help.

Time Management - Finding Time For Internet Marketing While Working Another Full Time Job

Whenever I get on my computer and start to work on my internet businesses I need to be focused. It is really important for me to be in an area which I can just do my work. In most cases people have other things going on in their life besides the internet and in my case I have a few hurdles I need to jump over before I get to work.

Have Your Priorities Straightened Out

First off, I have a girlfriend who comes before any of my work online. So if she is home I do not work on the computer. This really puts me back to have quicker success online, but I would not be happy without her. Even if I were to make more money I would not be happy.

If her and I are not on good terms, I have trouble focusing. This is another reason why it is important to have your priorities straight. If you have certain people that are like my girlfriend in your life I'm sure you know what I mean. They need attention. If she is not around then I get to work.

Set A Schedule

Before the week starts put away time that you will be able to work on your internet marketing. Do not get lazy and skip time you put away to work on your marketing.

In order to be successful online you do not need to be on the computer all day everyday. Give yourself breaks and time to relax and do nothing or go out and have a beer with your friends. If you are constantly working all day every day you will start to hate internet marketing and start to hate your life. Even if I were to make more money I would not be happy unless I put away time to do things other then work.

Set Achievable Goals

Setting achievable goals is key to being successful. It is always good to have something to look up towards. Your goal may be to write 3 articles a day, or it may be to update your 3 blogs twice a week. Whatever your goal is you must work towards achieving them.

By having your priorities straightened out, and setting achievable goals with a set schedule you are more likely to succeed then to go into internet marketing without a plan. Most people do there internet marketing in their free time which is fine, but it is also good to have free time for things other then internet marketing.

There's absolutely no excuses for not liking your job. Spammers Are Bummers

Even though many authors and speakers have already said over and over again to avoid
spamming there are still hundreds of marketers doing it. Why? Is it really worth the time and
effort just to get delivered into spam?

Spamming is like trespassing in real world, in short you are not allowed in wherever that
may be. There are a lot of reasons why you shouldn't spam. And I know you might have
heard a lot of it but I'll just write it down anyways so that you are reminded.

• Your chance to be read is .01% or less

That's almost nothing. Spam folders are known to have trash emails. Only a few people
look into it and most of the time they are probably only looking for something that their
friends have mistakenly sent. Good on you if you catch their attention and make them open
it. But that would be like wishing for a rain in dry season or wishing for a sun at midnight.

Now, there are a lot of opt-in lists for sale, do not get hooked on it. Because some of them
are just random emails, or something that do not even exist already. If you want your email
marketing to be fruitful then work hard for your opt-in list, offer free membership, or free
ebook, whatever you fancy just work it out yourself, do not ask for a free ride, because the
consequences are not worth it.

• You can get banned

In forums, spammers get banned, so if you try to spam to get a sale immediately then your
existence on that particular forum would also be finished immediately. And often you'll also
be black listed on other forums as well, so before you try on spamming, think twice first,
and make sure that you think ahead, not just on what you can get now but on what you can
have in the future. So if you really want to create traffic using forums, then you should try
earning their trust first by posting relevant stuff before telling / selling them your products.

Forums are for making friends that will eventually be your customers, not making customers
then eventually will be your friends.

• You might get penalized

Some unethical Internet marketers created something called "link farms". The idea was
quite simple a huge network of servers linking to various sites that in theory would increase
your links in thus increase your popularity. But search engines have also created something
that could detect legitimate links, which makes link farms some sort of a spam. Some are
even penalized by search engines by having so much links to websites that are not related
to them. The best way to get around this is to work a little harder though it might consume
much more time, but your efforts will soon be rewarded with higher spots on search
engines and legitimate spots as well.

Spamming as they say is illegal, though it requires lesser work but often get
flushed out the toilet, unread and unwanted. That is not how internet marketing works,
it's called business because you work for every little bit of it, but is paid off with every little
cent as well. So, I say, spamming is only for bummers, it is for those who are too lazy to be
successful, for those who doesn't learn, don't be one of them. Don't spam.

Protect Your Email from SPAM Bots

One of the easiest ways for your email to get snatched up by a SPAM bot is to have it on your website. Still, many businesses these days fall into the trap and then wonder why they are getting 15-20 SPAM emails a day. Fortunately, there is a quick fix that will allow you to have your email on your website, but in a way that the SPAM bots cannot recognize.

The way to do this is to create an image file of your email address. SPAM bots are designed to skim through text and code to find email addresses, but they cannot understand an image as it is referenced in the code by it's path. The only thing that is important to remember though is while the image is not decipherable by the SPAM bot, it's alt tag may be. For those that are not familiar with the alt tag, it is what will show up if the image does not load so the user still has a description of the image. Please don't take the time to implement this method if you are just going to make the alt tag your email address. My suggestion is make it something like "joesemail" or something like that. This way users who cannot view the image know what it is but the SPAM bots cannot pick up on it.

Using methods such as these are simple yet effective ways to better protect yourself from getting picked up by SPAM bots. Please know though that this is only one way to protect yourself and in order to be fully protected you need to employ multiple methods that will most likely affect how you use the internet in general. As always. be careful where and what you click!

Benefits of Using Blogs For SEO

Blogs, short for web log, have been used to share thoughts on everything from cooking recipes to investment advice. Only in recent years have businesses and marketing professionals begun to take advantage of blogs as a tool to both educate and build a relationship with customers. As any other tool available to marketers, a blog must be used with caution. Blogging communities value highly the straight forward conversational nature of blogs and will dismiss anything that smells of blatant sales attempts.

Blogging is really a quite simple, low cost and easy process to begin. Simply by going to a blog hosting service, such as blogger.com or typepad.com, you can get started in minutes. If you have IT folks in house with a little HTML knowledge, they can get a blog set up so that it will appear as though it exists within your web site. I recommend the latter approach, since this is where the true SEO benefit exists. Pick someone within the organization, a subject matter expert, not necessarily the company President, that can give more of a front lines perspective.

Post about topics relevant to your customers or industry. Pick topics that are timely and gain credibility in your specific market niche. Post as often as you can, consistency also is a best practice. (often can be anywhere from once a week to five times a day) Use terms customers use to describe your products or services. (some of these terms can be found in web analytics tracking tools, which is a different article) Best practices in search engine optimization also apply to blogs.

Keeping your company web site updated every other day can be a daunting task. Blogs keep search engines coming back to your web site by providing fresh, relevant content. Relevant content helps raise your overall search visibility for key phrases. Blogs create a conversational dialog with your customers that builds their trust. When customers perform a search, they are more likely to use the same conversational language (found in your blog) to describe your business and services. Blogs also build pages and pages of web site copy available to search engines and your customers to link to, write about, comment on or forward to their friends.

Once you start blogging, stay committed and have patience. It could take weeks or even months to see results from your efforts. Over time, your blog will become a key marketing tool in reaching new customers and recruiting talent for your business.

Seach Engine Marketing - How To Get A Top-10 Search Engine Position Spending Just 2 Hours!

The success or failure of your search engine marketing depends upon getting good rankings in the search engines. Preferably, you'd want to enter the Top 10 for a well-searched keyword in your market. If you want to do that by spending just 2 hours instead of slaving away for a week or two, here is what you need to do:

Step 1 - Bookmark Your Site!

Social bookmarking can be a quick way to get quality backlinks out there pointing back to your site. These are links from authority sites that are highly regarded by the search engines. Some places to bookmark your site include Digg and del.icio.us.

Step 2 - Start Posting In Forums

Foruming is an instant tactic to get incoming links. By creating a signature box that has a link back to your website, you have the potential to create new backlinks everytime you make a new post. Start finding popular forums related to your market and start posting on them.

Step 3 - Submit Articles To Article Directories

Article directories, especially the more popular ones, are often regarded as authority sites themselves by the search engines. Every article you submit can contain a few links pointing to your site. Some article directories allow you to link in the article itself, most will allow you to post a link in the article resource box.

As you can see, off-site search engine optimization is pretty straightforward. It is all about getting as many quality backlinks as you can. And the above methods are some of the most effective and fastest ways to achieve that!

Creative and Profitable Ways to Use Autoreponders

An interested visitor who has been strolling through your
site has finally come to just what she is looking for and
is about to make a purchase. It's a sunny afternoon, and
her cat, who happens to be sitting on the moss under the
visitor's large fifty-year-old snow-rose bonsai tree,
suddenly jumps down, and the priceless tree topples over.

In the blink of an eye, your visitor exits your site, and
your sale is dust - unless you have had the foresight to
utilize an autoresponder that has captured her email
address. If you have installed an autoresponder, you can
then follow-up with her, and in all probability, make the
sale when the poor woman has finished repotting her
precious bonsai.

Autoresponders are remarkable, versatile programs that do
so much more than just automatically answer your email.
Here are a few ideas that will help you to creatively and
productively use your autoresponder to transform the casual
visitor into a profitable customer. Use your autoresponder
to:

1. Publish a newsletter. Certain quality autoresponders
will manage subscriptions and follow-up with interested
prospects. Your newsletter can keep your visitors informed
about your services or products, while building your
reputation as a credible expert in your particular
business.

2. Publish a newsletter only for your affiliates. Inform
them of current sales you are running and of promotional
material that your affiliates can use themselves to
increase their commissions. Include tips, advice, and
techniques that your affiliates can use to successfully go
out and promote your business.

3. Write reviews. Cover books, software, music, e-books,
movies, etc., and put each review in an autoresponder.
Review your affiliate programs, using a link to your
affiliate's page in your autoresponder.

4. Distribute your articles. Writing and distributing
targeted articles is a powerful tool to build your business
credibility, bring traffic to your site, and increase your
sales potential. If your articles contain valuable
information, many editors will print what is known as a
resource box for you. A resource box contains your bio and
a brief description of your service or product. It can also
contain your autoresponder address. Let's say you've
written fifty articles. Put them on separate autoresponder
accounts and create a master list that contains the titles
of each article, the autoresponder address, and a brief
abstract. Then promote your master list. Additionally,
include your publishing guidelines so your affiliates can
add their articles to your list, increasing the number of
writers who are represented in your article list.

5. Create mailing lists. Inform subscribers to your
articles when you've written new ones that they may want to
publish in their own newsletter or website.

6. Automate your sales process. Use an ad to insure
repeated exposure of your message, which has been proven to
effectively increase sales. In your ad, put your
autoresponder address where a visitor will be exposed to
numerous marketing materials. This multiplies the chances
of converting visitors into customers. For example, if
you're selling a particular product, put testimonials about
how spectacular it is on your autoresponder, and add a
detailed, enticing description of your product.

7. Distribute advertising. Let's say you sell advertising
on your website or in your newsletter or e-zine. Set your
autoresponder to send the information about rates and how
to place an ad automatically to all prospects' email
addresses. Then have your autoresponder follow-up. It can
also send notification of any special deals you are
currently offering.

8. Distribute an email course. Each day, have your
autoresponder send out another lesson. Just be sure that
each lesson has quality content - not a sales pitch. Your
content will do the selling for you, and will do it much
more effectively. You can include tips centered on a
different topic for each lesson, illustrating how your
product will benefit the reader. Include the tangible
benefits the visitor will reap by purchasing your product.
Make sure to include a paragraph or two at the end of each
lesson enticing your prospect to consider making a
purchase.

9. Automate a reminder about your service or product after
a visitor has completed your course. This will increase the
possibility of sales from visitors who have taken your
course but are dragging their feet about actually making a
purchase. You can also use these reminders to promote new
products or services, and the products and services of your
affiliate programs.

10. Distribute free reports. This gives your visitor an
idea of the type of information you can provide and the
quality of your product or service. Make sure these reports
are not sales letters or you will more than likely lose a
potential customer than gain a sale.

11. Create trivia quizzes on your site and place the
answers in an autoresponder. Your visitor will then be
motivated to request your autoresponder, and you will have
a record of the visitors' email addresses who took your
quiz. Or create a contest and have any visitors that enter
send their responses to your autoresponder. Your
autoresponder can be set-up to send them a confirmation of
their entry.

12. Offer a trial version of your product. Give your
prospects a sample of your ebook, course, software,
membership, etc. People who are exposed to a little taste
often end up wanting the whole pie. You can also capture
their email addresses when you offer them a free trial from
your website. Set up your autoresponder to give
instructions on how to obtain their free trial, and then
make sure to follow-up to try and close the sale.

13. Link to hidden pages on your autoresponder. For
example, a hidden page could be your affiliate page that
contains graphics, promotional articles, and text links
that interested affiliates can make use of. Inform visitors
that they may have free access to your affiliate page by
simply requesting your autoresponder. You will then gather
a list of visitors who may be interested in becoming your
affiliates.

14. Use an autoresponder on your order page. Post a request
form for visitors to be notified of special offers or
discounts in the future. This creates a very effective
mailing list that contains the names of people who are
already your customers.

15. Put your links page on your autoresponder. It should
contain up to fifty links that would be of particular
interest to your visitors. Make sure to add your own
promotional copy at the top or bottom of this page.

Now that you have proof that autoresponders can be used
creatively, see if you can come up with some brilliant
ideas of your own!

Introduction to Autoresponders

If you've reached the point of exhaustion trying to keep up
with answering the mountain of emails that threatens to
bury you alive every single day, you're ready to learn
about autoresponders.

The bad news is that people expect prompt replies to their
email inquiries. However, unless you can figure out how to
work continual twenty-four hour shifts, or hire enough
people to constantly monitor incoming emails (while they're
eating up your revenue), you have a problem. The good news
is an autoresponder is an inexpensive - or even free -
method of quickly responding to emails. What these programs
do is automatically respond to incoming emails as soon as
they are received.

Emails are essential to your business for many different
reasons. Most importantly, these invisible email voices
give you their feedback about your website - for free!
However, if you spend all your working hours answering
these emails, how are you supposed to run your business?
The answer is simple: use autoresponders. Autoresponders
are programs that automatically respond to your emails
without you so much as having to click on your mouse.

There are a number of good reasons why you need an
autoresponder besides just answering your email. For
example, autoresponders can be used if you need a way to
send information about your services or products, price
lists, or if there are repeated questions asked across
large numbers of emails. Maybe you want to offer your site
visitors a special bonus of some kind, such as advice or
relevant articles. All of this can be handled by an
autoresponder. Additionally, you can advertise your
business and then build stable relationships with your
customers by using autoresponders.

Autoresponder programs vary from software that runs with
your email program to a specialized script that runs on
your web hosting company's server. This kind of script may
use a web page form or simply operate with your email
account. This kind of script is programmed to send out a
standardized message whenever an email is received. The
message is sent to a particular script or email address.

Some autoresponders can do more than simply send out
standardized messages. They can send out an unlimited
number of follow-up messages sent at predetermined interval
of time. For example, you can set your autoresponder to
send out a new message every day for as long a period as
you desire.

There are numerous companies who offer autoresponders free
of charge. Your website hosting company often provides
autoresponders as a free service. If this is not the case
with your web hosting company, there are numerous companies
who offer this service for a small fee, or free of charge,
providing you attach an advertisement for their company to
your emails.

To personalize your autoresponder messages, you can attach
a signature. Signatures in this case are much like business
cards. You can include your name, company, all your contact
numbers and addresses, and a brief message.

It's a good idea to attach a signature to every email that
is sent out. This works as a repeated reminder of your
business identity every time a customer sees it. The more
they look at your signature, the more likely your company
will spring to mind when your particular service or product
is needed.

You can create a standardized signature that every employee
in your business uses, or you can go wild, and let every
staff member create their own personal signature. Of
course, like everything in life, there are some rules and
guidelines to creating a personal signature.

Keep the length of your signature between four to six lines
of text, with no more than 70 characters in a single line.
Make sure that your email program does not cut off your
text! The content should include your name, your company
name, your email address, fax number, and any other contact
details, such as 800 numbers. Lastly, always include a
short personal message about your company. It should be a
subtle sell of your services or your products, and possibly
your company's reliability and longevity.

Another specialized use of autoresponders is to create
courses that you can then offer your site visitors for
free. You must choose a topic in which you are an expert
and that precisely targets your potential customers.

Once you have carefully chosen your subject, divide it into
a number of different sub-topics. Then offer your site
visitor a free 10 or 15 day course, each day offering a
different sub-topic. The first topic should always be a
welcome message to your site visitor and an explanation
about what is to follow. Your explanation should be
enticing, getting the point across that you are offering
free, quality information that your target audience will
find of great value.

With every lesson, include the number of the lesson, the
topic title, information about your company and its
services or products. At the end, include a few blurbs
about the next lesson to entice the subscriber to continue
on.

Make sure each topic is packed with essential and valuable
information, and leaves the visitor lusting to know more.
Otherwise, you may lose them in the very beginning.

Of course, you have to write up your course before you can
offer it. Once you have done this, and gone over the
material carefully, employing a professional writer or
editor if necessary, you must transfer your text to your
autoresponder.

There are a number of free autoresponders you can use. Try
http:/www.getresponse.com, or http://www.fastfacts.net. Or
go onto Google and you will find a long list of free
autoresponder companies. Then sign-up for your chosen
autoresponder. Once you do, you will receive instructions
as to how to set it up and transfer your text.

Email is an excellent marketing tool; it is inexpensive and
it is fast. Use it to advertise your business by choosing
your email address carefully. Your website should contain
different email addresses for different contact requests.
For example, use info@yourdomain.com for information
requests, or sales@yourdomain.com for questions about
sales. It's a good idea to set up one for the owner, such
as president@yourdomain.com. This presents your company in
a personal, approachable light and insures that direct
contact is provided.

Autoresponders are an effective and powerful marketing
tool, allowing you to make contact with thousands of
potential customers. This is an invaluable asset
considering how many potential customers you usually have
contact with before you make an actual sale. Essentially,
an autoresponser allows you to automate part of your
marketing campaign.

How to Price Your eBook

You've written and compiled an ebook. Now you have to
decide how much to charge for it. Finding the right
price is essential to the success of your product. If
you charge too little, people will think it's of
little value, and they won't purchase it, or even it
they do buy your book, you will have to sell thousands
of copies to get to the point where you can begin to
see a profit. If you price it too high when compared
with your competition, you will find yourself steadily
lowering the price, which will cause you all kinds of
new problems in the future. For example, if you sell
your ebook at first for $39.99, and later reduce it to
$24.95, don't you think the people who bought it for
$39.99 are going to be PISSED?

Choosing the right price for your ebook is one of the
most critical parts of the marketing process. The
first rule of pricing ebooks is to never underprice.
Determine the highest price your audience can afford,
and then if you find your book isn?t selling, you can
always reduce the price. Before you take that step,
make sure you are promoting your book like crazy on
the Internet and on websites. The price should be
aimed at bringing in profits, but you should never
forget that price is one of the factors that people
use in judging the value of your ebook ? before they
buy it. So always start with the highest price, and
then launch a mega-marketing campaign.

Pricing an ebook is particularly difficult because
ebooks are a fairly new commodity. Since they are
digital, the value of an ebook is as confusing as the
understanding of what digital actually is to the
average layperson. This means that we must look at
ebooks in a different light in order to determine
their actual worth in this brave, new cyber world.

Let's look at the difference between a book in print
and an ebook. A printed book is an object you can hold
in your hand, store on your bookshelf, even hand down
to the next generation. It is priced on factors such
as paper stock, design and production costs, and
marketing.

But the fact that unites ebooks and print books is
that they are composed of ideas. It is the ideas in
these books that have the ability to change, or
possibly transform, people's lives.

What do you think an idea is worth when evaluated
against the cost of paper and ink?

It is the IDEAS that are valuable! That is how you
determine the cost of your ebook.

What should I charge for my ideas?

There are all different formulas and methods for
determining the correct price for your ebook. Let's
begin with honing in on your ultimate goals.

Decide if your goal is to get wide distribution and
maximum exposure. This goal is aimed at drawing
customers to your business or service, or to
establishing the credibility of your reputation. If
this is your main goal, you should aim to keep your
price on the low side. Some authors have even priced
their ebooks at a profit loss to draw a high number of
new customers. The key is to find a price that
maximizes your profits and the number of books you
sell.

This is an excellent pricing strategy if you are
looking to acquire long-term customers. Long-term
customers are extremely likely to buy from you again
and again ? as long as the first ebook they buy is of
exceptional quality and beneficial to the customer.

However, if your book contains valuable ? and more
importantly NEW information, references, or techniques
? then you should aim to price it on the high end.

After you figure out your goal, you must figure out
what your audience's need is for your ebook. For
example, does your book solve a particular problem? If
it does, and solves it in a way that hasn't been
written about in one hundred other ebooks, you will be
able to achieve high sales at a high price. If your
book solves a problem or answers questions in a new
and unique way, you should price your book as high as
you can go. You will achieve larger profits this way,
but bring in fewer customers. Just make sure the
question or problem that your book solves is one that
is important and relevant to the majority of your
market audience. If your ideas are not common
knowledge, or you are presenting a brand new
technique, you will be able to sell books at a high
price. Just be prepared for your competition to
undercut you on price as soon as they hear about your
book.

Keep in mind that the above pricing strategy is
temporary. Eventually, you will cease to sell books at
this high price. So figure out in advance how long you
plan to offer your ebook at this high price, and when
that time is up, change your pricing strategy.

If you want to see large profits over customer draw,
aim for an audience that is looking for easy solutions
to their problems at a low price. If your book is
aimed at solving one particular problem rather than
general advice, then you can charge more. Start at the
highest price the market will bear to bring in the
largest profits, and plan to discount the book a
number of times throughout the year.

Marketing Strategies

The key that unlocks the sales potential of your ebook
is to find a single sentence that becomes your selling
handle. This sentence states what question or problem
your book answers and the benefits your ebook can
provide. Then be sure to use that sentence in every
piece of sales and promotional material, and every
time anyone asks you about your ebook.

Besides promoting your books assiduously online, there
are several other strategies that can help you sell
more books.

One is to give something away for free with your book,
such as a valuable bonus item. Or bundle several
ebooks under one price, which lowers the price for
each ebook if they were sold separately.

An effective technique for figuring out a price is to
send out a survey to your current customers. If these
customers have already bought an ebook from you, ask
for their opinion in terms of price. Do this by
creating a sales page for the new book, but don't
include a price on that page. Instead, add a number of
links to survey questions that ask pointed questions
to aid you in assigning a price to your ebook.

Another strategy is to test out prices by creating a
number of duplicate sales pages with different prices
on each page. Make sure your sales copy is exactly the
same on every page, and includes your selling-handle
sentence. Then figure out for each page the conversion
ratio between visitors to your site and sales of your
book. This will tell you what your optimum price is.

Ultimately, if you've written a book that solves a
problem or presents a new technique, your book will
bring in both traffic and profits. So be sure to write
that selling-handle sentence that sums up what problem
your book solves and what the benefits of your book
will be to the customers who purchase it. And then
watch your market come to you!

Rating eBook Compilers

Now that you've finished writing your eBook and have a
basic understanding of what an eBook compiler does,
you may be feeling overwhelmed by the number of
compilers on the market. To help you make your
decision, I have tested and reviewed the best-rated
eBook compilers currently available.

* E-ditor

This software has a demo version that you can download
to try out before purchasing. You can't actually use
the demo to create an eBook, but you can run the
software and test it out thoroughly to see if it does
what you need it to do for your particular eBook.

This eBook compiler is one of the easiest to use. The
software has a very user-friendly help menu that
provides instructions for and explanations of every
field on every screen. The program also includes video
tutorials demonstrating every step of this compiler
with clear explanations of all fields that need to be
filled out. There are 7 screens that you use to choose
your eBook options.

This compiler requires your files to be in HTML
format. You follow simple directions, and the compiler
loads your files. If you decide to edit your eBook
after it has been compiled, make any changes in your
original files and click on "Compile you eBook" and
your changes will appear in your compiled eBook.

E-editor allows for some customization of your eBook.
You can create a special page that appears when the
eBook is opened; create customized icons that appear
on the desktop after downloading; use your own logo on
the task bar of your eBook; customize the task bar's
buttons, where the task bar appears in your eBook, and
choose the task bar's colors. Additionally, you can
choose to have the eBook open to the last page read,
which many of your buyers will appreciate.

An excellent and unique feature of E-ditor is the
capability to choose a standard Microsoft window or to
create your own design for a window to personalize
your eBook. The program provides some sample window
designs, but you can use any .bmp (bit map skin)
graphic you have stored on your hard drive.

E-ditor is a good choice if you are new at producing
eBooks because it is easy to use and allows you to
customize the appearance of your eBook.

* Desktop Author

This compiler does not require a browser, nor do you
have to download software or plug-ins. The program
converts exe. files into pages that look like a
standard book. You can create and produce eBook pages
scaled to fit on your computer screen without any
scrolling. Additional features include WYSIWGY (what
you see is what you get) page editing and creation,
the ability to manipulate internal images, cut and
paste functions, hotlinks to pages, email, website, or
other files. It is an excellent compiler to use for a
marketing tools, such as creating brochures and
manuals in addition to eBooks.

* EBook Edit Pro

This compiler provides a demo version, which allows
you to test out its features. The software uses a
Wizard that leads you step-by-step through the set-up
and creation of your eBook. Customization includes
text editing that appears on the pop-up starting
message window; the ability to allow or prevent
resizing of your book and the mouse-click pop-up menu;
enabling or disabling the navigation bar and choosing
the buttons you want to appear; and customizing the
eBook's desktop icon and the logo that appears on the
navigation bar.

Ebook Edit Pro is loaded with excellent features that
allow you to create multi-media Ebooks, and includes a
Wizard that is customized for beginners and for
advanced users. The software uses HTML files,
downloading them from the directory where they are
saved. Edit and resave your files in the original
software used to create those files, and then with a
single click you can re-compile your Ebook.

Features include customization of icons, toolbars, and
the "about box." This compiler has a particularly
useful feature called the Rebrander feature. This
permits you to enter customized code into your Ebook
pages and distribute the Rebrander software to your
affiliates or distributors. They can then customize
the links included in the Ebook, but they can not
alter any link or information that you have not
entered a customized code for.

The software includes "eBrand-It" software that allows
custom fields for your customer's name, affiliate ID
or URL. This feature is a powerful marketing tool
because affiliates are much happier giving away your
Ebook from their own site when they can customize it.

* Ebook Compiler

This compiler offers a demo version that allows you to
compile 10 files. If you don't include graphics, you
can create a 10 page Ebook that allows printing and
copying of the Ebook. The catch is that you can't sell
any Ebook you create in the demo version.

The purchased software is user-friendly with
easy-to-follow help files that not only guide you
through the steps of compiling your Ebook, but also
explains what an Ebook compiler does. The software
provides detailed instructions on how to create source
files from Microsoft Word 2000 and 1997, PowerPoint
2000 and 1997, and HTML documents. It contains less
detailed instructions for creating source files from
other programs.

This compiler allows for password protection of your
entire Ebook or for selected pages. Additionally, you
can set a time limit on your Ebook. When the runs out,
the customer no longer has access unless they pay for
it. In other words, it allows you to create a demo
version of your Ebook for marketing purposes.

You can set a single password or multiple passwords.
Using multiple passwords assigns each user their own
specific password. Online help files guide you through
setting up your passwords. You can also create a Sales
and Thank-you page for selling a password protected
Ebook. This is a good choice for the novice,
particularly since it includes basic features for
password protection and distribution.

* Activ Ebook Compiler

This is an easy to use compiler that provides
excellent features. This software can support HTML,
JPEG, GIF, and all active plug-ins. Features includes
password protection, branding, internet linking, icon
customization, assigning unique serial numbers, splash
screen, file compression, and start-up messages. It
also provides free lifetime upgrades. Additionally, it
includes a preprocessor, re-brander, active script,
and detailed instructions for using HTML, Power Point,
and Microsoft Word files.

There are several other excellent Ebook compilers on
the market that are worth looking into.

Ebook Generator features splash screens, password
protection, branding, icon customization, and
compression control. Additionally, it includes virus
prevention that alerts the user to any modifications
made to your Ebook and offers usage statistics so you
can track your Ebook's use. With all these advanced
features, this is an excellent compiler for the
beginner because it is exceptionally easy to run.

Ebook Creator is another excellent compiler,
supporting HTML, JPEG, GIF, and PNG graphics, and
Javascript, VB script, and Java applets. It also
supports all Internet Explorer plug-ins. Standard
features include unique serial numbers, direct linking
to a form or a page on your website, disabled right
clicking, and search functions. The software allows
for expiration after a set number of days or usages,
which allows you to create demo versions. You can
create up to 1000 different passwords; every time the
Ebook is downloaded, a unique password is required to
access protected pages. The software provides
user-friendly menus and buttons that allow the
beginner to the advanced user to easily create their
Ebook.

Obviously, there are some excellent compilers out
there. So figure out EVERYTHING you need in terms of
features, and then compare prices and options. Do take
advantage of demo versions if they are offered before
purchasing. And then, have fun creating your Ebook!
